Weekend Away at Alpine Village Resort | Jasper National Park

As visitors to Jasper, we respectfully acknowledge that Jasper National Park is located in Treaty 6 and Treaty 8, as well as the traditional lands of the Beaver, Cree, Ojibway, Secwépemc, Stoney and Métis.

During my travels, I have stayed in all types of accommodations from guest houses & hostels to luxury resorts & treehouse hotels, but when I head to the mountains I love the vibe of a quiet cabin in the woods.

If you’re like me and dream of escaping to a mountain cabin surrounded by nature, then this review of Alpine Village Resort in Jasper National Park was written for you, because Alpine Village offers those “cabin in the woods” vibes with 56 perfectly appointed log cabins located directly across from the Athabasca River.

We arrived to Alpine Village Resort in the early afternoon and although we were greeted with stunning views of Mount Edith Cavell and Tekarra Mountain, we had previously chosen a cabin that offered a little more privacy with views of the forest and the wildlife living there. We checked in with ease, dropped our bags in the spacious front entrance and enjoyed an afternoon drink alongside our new neighbors; the elk.

Alpine Village provides seasonal accommodation from May to October, with log cabins that range from upscale chalets with fireplace and kitchen to quaint, rustic cabins for a more authentic Canadian mountain Experience.

Each cabin comes equipped with TV, fridge, complimentary parking, coffee & tea. (complimentary Wifi is also included, but signal is intermittent due to the mountainous location).

Alpine Village Cabin Resort is one of the few remaining family owned and operated properties in Jasper National Park, and the attention to detail both in and outside of the cabins is really a testament to how much they care for both their cabins and their guests.

With beautiful views and mountain views directly on the property, there is really no need to go exploring if relaxation is all you need. That said though, there is no shortage of tours and hikes in the area to keep you moving if an adventure is what you’re looking for.

One of our favorite views in the area was the view from Old Fort Point Loop (pictured above); a viewpoint hike available within walking distance from Alpine Village. Not only does this hike offer 360 degree views of the town of Jasper and surrounding mountains, but it’s a great location for watching big horned sheep travers the mountains and laze on the edge of the river.

So whether you are heading to Jasper for a mountain adventure or a secluded few days away, Alpine Village might just be the perfect place for you. Enjoy a sneak peek of our cabin in the video below and be sure to bookmark this beautiful spot for your next getaway in the Canadian Rockies.
